What is your role?
As a general practitioner I manage a team at our Loughborough office which we acquired in 2015, I am also actively involved in helping to grow the Loughborough office over the coming years. I have extensive experience in dealing with small to medium sized owner-managed businesses in most areas of accounts, audit, taxation and VAT.
I am passionate about providing my clients with added value business advice and am driven by supporting them above and beyond offering to meet their basic compliance and taxation requirements.
Over the years I have looked after clients in a variety of sectors such as property development and investment, manufacturing, engineering, agriculture, food and drink, services and consultancy. I also have specialist experience with Charities SORP and Solicitors' Accounts Rules.
I hold my audit qualification with the ICAEW and spent a number of years auditing small to medium-sized companies before moving into a more general client management and business advisory role.
What else are you involved with?
I am a member of the firm’s corporate & business tax group and get involved in a number of tax planning projects and reviews. I am also involved in organising regular seminars in the local area.
What interests do you have outside of work?
I enjoy spending time with my wife and children, eating good food (with a nice glass of wine or two if possible), playing golf (albeit badly) and I’m a keen supporter of Arsenal FC.
What is the most valuable piece of advice you have been given during your career?
To never be afraid of asking a question. You will work with some incredibly talented and skilled people, some with vast amounts of experience, take the opportunity to absorb all you can from them, whenever you can, however you can, while you can. Believe.
