What is your role?
I look after a varied portfolio of clients operating in various sectors but particularly in agriculture, horticulture and food. I assist Owner Managed Businesses in realising the importance of long-term strategic and commercial planning to secure the benefits of a successful business for subsequent generations, having had first-hand experience through my family’s local agricultural engineering business. I have many years of audit experience and chair the firm’s audit and accountancy committee.
What else are you involved with?
I am a member of the ICAEW Audit & Assurance Faculty Board and am also a member of the Monkshouse Group of South Holland and District Scouts.
What interests do you have outside of work?
I live in Spalding and am a member of both the Spalding Club and Gentlemen’s Society. My interests include travel, silver, history, wine and clay shooting.
What is your most memorable experience?
Parachute jump a week before my ICAEW final results, both successfully completed.
What is the most valuable piece of advice you have been given during your career?
Don't be afraid to acknowledge what you don't know.
