Association of Practising Accountants

Duncan & Toplis are members of the Association of Practising Accountants (APA).

The APA is a group of medium-sized UK chartered accountancy firms who are well established and independent.  Member firms are committed to seeing their clients succeed and provide the resources and comprehensive range of services needed to make this happen.

APA member firms share the following common set of values:

  • Recognising that every client is unique, with their own needs and demands
  • Clearly understanding how entrepreneurs think and work
  • Commitment to providing excellent value for money
  • Believing in the close, personal, active involvement of partners
  • Making life easier for financiers and clients
  • Believe that the quality of people counts
  • Providing the same level of service and attention to detail throughout the overseas network

Representatives from the member firms meet regularly giving us the opportunity to exchange information and ideas on a variety of topics relevant to the successful management of the firm.  Our clients and employees benefit from the benchmarking we are able to undertake against other members in areas such as charge-out rates and salaries to ensure we remain competitive.

The APA has a close link with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and is often consulted by them when issues arise.  As APA members we have more opportunities to talk directly to senior figures at the ICAEW and put forward our points of view on matters that are important to firms of our size.

Membership of the APA also enables us to utilise links with similar firms in the major business centres of the world who are carefully selected by the APA and share our own high standards and values. This can be extremely useful when clients are considering conducting business abroad.

For further information on our membership of the APA, please contact our Managing Director Adrian Reynolds.
