Ian Phillips FCAis the partner in charge at both our Newark and Lincoln offices. As a general practitioner Ian has extensive experience in dealing with family businesses and is known for his practical commercial advice. His client base includes businesses of all sizes from start up to well established. He advises numerous agricultural businesses in addition to clients operating in a diverse range of industries and trades. With a strong IT background he regularly advises clients on computer issues and he has responsibility for the firm's own computer strategy. Ian is a Director and Company Secretary for Beaumond House (the Newark Hospice), Chairman of Governors of Claypole School and a keen member of Newark 41 Club. He lives near to Newark and his hobbies include football, classic cars and music. Ian's brother Keith is a partner at the Sleaford office.

Damon Brain MAAT ACA is based at our Lincoln office looking after a wide variety of small and medium sized family businesses. Damon is a general practitioner who prides himself on providing his clients with proactive and relevant advice. As well as looking after routine accountancy and taxation affairs he is involved in providing business advice and specialised tax planning. Damon has been successful in assisting with the establishment and growth of the Lincoln office. He is involved in the local community and is also a Director and Trustee of The Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance in a voluntary capacity. Damon lives in the Lincoln region and in his spare time enjoys playing golf as well as being a keen Round Tabler and raising money for local charities.

   

Simon Syddall FCA works in our Sleaford and Lincoln offices, looking after a broad based portfolio of clients, including our specialist medical sector. He has considerable experience in the construction industry, agriculture, road haulage and retailing. Simon has also worked in industry, youth training and as a non-executive NHS director. He is a Co-opted Governor of the Kesteven and Grantham Girls High School, a Trustee of the Kings School, Grantham "Old" Trusts and past Treasurer of St Wulfram's Parish Church. His leisure time interests include motor sport, fitness and rowing. He is a past Vice Captain of Newark Rowing Club.

Mark Taylor FCCA CTA has particular expertise in corporate and property taxes, covering our offices in Lincoln, Louth, Newark, Skegness and Sleaford. Mark is responsible for the running of the firm’s property tax department and thrives on adding value to his clients, he has extensive experience of tax planning and due diligence having worked on many large corporate and property transactions. Mark is current chairman of Louth Round Table and Chairman of the Lincoln branch of the Forum for the Built Environment. In his spare time he enjoys holidays and motorcycling.
